#FORTHE6IX Sneaker Design Competition with Footlocker Canada

@footlockercanada held a design competition for those who wanted to create a custom sneaker inspired by the City of Toronto.

My sneaker submission represented the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) that so many Torontonians rely on to get from point A to point B. Their colour palette is a bright red with black as a secondary tone. I overlaid the subway map right at the intersection of Yonge and Bloor as this is one of the busier stations. Included on the side of the shoe is the message: “Sorry…Not In Service” – as many Toronto transit riders would be familiar with from time to time. Lastly, I created a typographic pattern at the back of the shoe to provide a subtle texture by listing the most popular subway stations.

The Toronto Slang Edition & CN Tower shoe were other designs I created, but didn’t submit.

Overall, a total of six winners were granted the opportunity to bring their creations to life with the help of @mackhouseinc during a private sneaker design session. I am so happy my sneaker was chosen to represent the City of Toronto and its developing transit system. #RideTheRedRocket 🚀🔥😍
