Design Thinkers 2019

Last week was my first time (ever!) attending the RGD Design Thinkers in Toronto. The creative and passionate designers I was exposed to completely exceeded my expectations, from their audience engagement to their relatable and dynamic presentations (full of memes btw)!

Personal highlights from the two days:

1) Adam J. Kurtz is freaking hilarious and was hands down the most engaging speaker at the conference (didn't want it to end). His two therapeutic screaming sessions were very much needed. His talk revolved around encouraging designers to do what they can with what they have and strive to create work that can help us connect with others.

2) Ti Chang, an industrial designer, is an innovative badass who is bringing women's pleasure (which has long been stigmatized) to the forefront through conversations about innovative designs.

3) Cey Adams, a skillful graffiti artist turned creative director for DefJam records, has working relationships with some of the world's most legendary hip hop artists (Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Biggie, Jay-Z and more). He’s been creating album covers, logos and ad campaigns that are still being used today.
