Archaeologist Analog Clock Design

Archaeologist Analog Clock Design

The archaeologist clock incorporates type and imagery to convey the process and steps to excavate a site, through navigation, measurements and depth. Time is displayed not only in a radial format, but through the multiple layers of depth created by the chosen material. Artifacts found closer to the earth's surface are considered more recent, while artifacts found deeper beneath the earth's surface are much older.

The numbers are represented through different time periods, as well as geographical coordinates. Overall, this design demonstrates a systematic process to generate visual form through qualitative research, critical reasoning and creative thought into a coherent concept. Naming the clock, "Overtime", not only distinguishes a sense of hierarchy, but adds to the general design.
